Helpers
Helpers are specialized AI agents that run alongside the main narrative AI, each managing different aspects of the Story. They can be enabled or disabled through the Helpers menu in the sidebar, allowing you to customize how automated you want your world to be.
Key Helper Categories
- World Management:
- Automatically create and update locations as they're mentioned.
- Track character movements and positions.
- Manage item transfers and inventory.
- Monitor time passage and update the game state.
- Character Management:
- Create new characters as they appear in the narrative.
- Track character relationships and party formations.
- Handle NPC movements and interactions.
- Manage character status changes.
- Story Assistance:
- Keep track of story beats and progression.
- Create journal entries for important events.
- Generate message suggestions based on context.
- Summarize narrative for long-term memory.
- Game Mechanics:
- Process dice rolls and skill checks.
- Handle zone events and triggers.
- Manage combat encounters.
- Track Fate mechanics (aspects, consequences, etc.).
Using Helpers
- Enable/disable Helpers by clicking the Helpers heading in the sidebar.
- Helpers can be toggled individually to customize the automation level.
- Some Helpers depend on others to function properly.
- Helper status is indicated in real-time as they process the narrative.
Best Practices
- Only disable Helpers when you are sure they are not needed or are conflicting with the world you are trying to play.
