Pending Metadata

Pending metadata in Questies allow players to preview and manage additional metadata that will be sent with their next message to the Game Master (GM).

This feature ensures the GM has all the necessary context for crafting a response while allowing players to retain control over what information is shared.

When there are pending messages, an envelope icon appears in the chat interface. Clicking the envelope reveals a detailed list of metadata queued for inclusion in the next message to the GM. Players can cancel this data before sending their message.

• New Character Notices: Alerts the GM that a new character has been created and provides relevant details for incorporating them into the scene.
• Changed Active Character Notices: Alerts the GM when the player switches to a different active character, helping the transition occur in the next scene.
• Compel Updates: Informs the GM when the player has accepted a compel, enabling the GM to adjust the narrative accordingly.

If pending data is canceled, the GM does not receive any of the associated information. This means that critical updates, such as new characters or accepted compels, may not be integrated into the next response, but will still exist for use.
