Mooks

Mooks in Fate Accelerated are the grunts, henchmen, and cannon fodder of the game world. Their purpose is to provide excitement, challenge, and narrative flavor without bogging down the pace of the story. Unlike more important foes, Mooks are designed to be simple and quick to handle. They might serve as a distraction, wear down the party's resources, or emphasize the power of a more significant enemy they’re supporting.

Mechanically, Mooks are straightforward. If they have stress boxes, each one absorbs 1 stress. Once their stress boxes are used up, the next hit takes them out entirely. Mooks typically don’t take consequences—they’re either standing or out of the fight. Their simplicity keeps combat fast-paced, freeing time for more tactical and narrative-rich encounters with important enemies.
